The Creator – Simon Hammond
Simon Hammond is one of Australia’s most sought after keynote speakers and commentators on branding, consumer behaviour and his unique social insights. He has also been responsible for creating four of Australia’s most talked about communication agencies since his first, dare, back in 1988. His second agency, The Edge, won emerging agency of the year, as did his third, SEE. He remains a non executive director of Bastion Brands, the fourth agency he co founded in 2009.
Simon has written three books on branding and society, GUTS, BE Brands and CEO of Earth. An ex-investigative journalist and newsman, Hammond’s early career involved time in suburban newspapers, daily press, talkback and news radio and magazine editing.
Since his days as a reporter, he has been observing and interpreting consumer behaviour in all parts of society. Hammond’s Social Insights program – SINS – has created new thinking within Australian business with cornerstone SINS such as ‘Anonymous Intimacy’, ‘Meism’ and ‘Illusion of Sophistication’ becoming the basis for many key brand reinventions.
